If you are driving yourself to the conference venue, University Hall is the huge building on the right hand side as you enter the campus. Soon after passing through the security station, please take a right turn to enter the parking area in the basement of the University Hall Building. Parking in the P2 structure is free (overnight parking is permitted).
After parking, take elevator to the first floor or main lobby and then take escalator to 3rd floor. The Department of Theology is located in # 3768, Marymount Institute is in the same floor.

Complimentary shuttle service from the airport is offered by calling from any courtesy phone in the baggage claim area.

Complimentary shuttle service will also be provided daily from the hotel to LMU and back.

The Hotel accommodation team will be contacting all the invited guests to provide the details of their accommodation arrangements.

Accommodation is in double occupancy rooms. Every effort will be made to accomodate specific preference in regard to co-occupant. For unavoidable reasons, if you need a single occupancy room, please indicate so when contacted by the accommodation committee.

Any other invited participant who is not a presenter can also be provided accommodation at the rate of $115 per night (tax included, same rate for single or double occupancy).

Travel Arrangements:

The travel co-ordination committee will be in touch with the invited guests about 8 weeks in advance, to ascertain preferred airport and time for departure to Los Angeles and the return journey.

Dear Friends,

The preparations for the 2011 Uberoi Foundation Experts' Meeting are moving along well. Please note :

Full Papers: We have just started receiving full papers from some of you. We are requesting all others to strive to send in their full papers at the latest by September 15. This will facilitate interested readers to become familiar with the material beforehand.

Time Allocation for Presentation : In order to smoothly accommodate a large number of presenters, most of them on general panels, all are expected to make their presentations in no more than 10 min, leaving some time at the end of the session for interaction with the audience, questions, answers and comments.

During the dinner sessions, we will be covering Grantee Reports on the projects funded during the last year by the Uberoi Foundation. We will also be covering a very stimulating presentation by a host of other like-minded institutions. All of these presentations are expected to be of 4.5 to 5 minutes duration.

Power Point Presentations : Use of power point presentation is encouraged and the material should be emailed to us by Friday September 23rd so as to make all the technical arrangements for a smooth flow of presentations.

A suggestion from Prof. Ved Nanda : Prof. Nanda, the Chair of Uberoi Foundation, has made a humble request to all the presenters: to strive to convey their thoughts in relatively simple terms, with only sparing use of complex technical jargon so that it could be more readily and meaningfully comprehensible to all the participants.

Conference Venue : We have a pleasant and beautiful place for our conference session, as well as for lunch/dinner sessions, on the 3rd floor of the University Hall of the Loyola Marymount University Campus. The campus is located about 3 miles from LAX and one mile from Custom Hotel, with Free Shuttle services and some additional vans by volunteers. Please also visit our "Logistics" tab in the website for further details.

Conference Hall Capacity : The conference place has a maximum seating capacity of 110. We have about 60 persons confirmed as presenters / Chairs / discussants etc. and about 45 other confirmed audience/participants. We have only a few additional spots available.

Travel Summary : By September 15, we are planning to provide a summary of travel itinerary of all the registered participants to the hotel/shuttle service for a smoother and timely pickup of the arriving delegates. Those of you who are arriving in your own car, there will be ample parking at LMU in the basement of the University Hall.

Transportation from Hotel to the Conference Venue on Friday - Sept 30 : Those who are staying in Custom Hotel will be transported to the venue on the LMU campus or may choose to walk (about a distance of one mile). Route maps from the hotel to the conference place will be available at the hotel front-desk, in your rooms, and also in your registration folders.

Accommodation : Although a few of you have requested a single occupancy accommodation, for others we are requesting double occupancy assignments, due to a very tight budgetary constraints as the number of panelists turned out to be much larger than originally anticipated. We are delighted to welcome such a large participation of persons with keen and genuine interest in the subject. Accommodation details will be checked out with you and also posted on the conference website by September 26th.

Prior familiarizing with Presentations, Presenters and Participants : Please take a look at the website's tab for the abstracts, full papers and bios of presenters and participants, for a lively and fruitful discussions at the conference.

Registration Desk and the Inaugural Session : The registration desk will open at 3 PM (along with snacks, coffee and informal socializing ) and the inaugural session will commence sharp at 5 PM on Friday, September 30, 2011.

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Uberoi Foundation's conference organizing committee, I would like to warmly welcome all of you, who have intimated your confirmed participation at the forthcoming conference. We are striving to make it an exciting, enlightening and enriching experience.

Please note:

Photo and Bio: Kindly send your photos and less than 200 words bio, if you have not yet sent it.

Travel: As hardly 4 weeks time is left, try to book your air ticket, so as to get a better deal on pricing, for those who are coming from out of town. Keep us informed about your itinerary or other travel details, such as by car etc.

Accommodation: We have booked rooms in nearby "Customs Hotel", about 1 mile distance from the conference venue along with the free shuttle service. We are trying to provide complimentary double occupancy free accommodation for all academic scholars and university students coming from out of town. For other participants also hotel accommodation can be arranged (at the rate of $116 per night including taxes, same rate for both double or single occupancy). If you need it, please inform us at your early convenience.

Conference website: As it is regularly updated, periodically visit, to acquaint with additional information. In addition to bio and abstract of different presenters, the full papers also are planned to be uploaded. In next 1-3 weeks , for prior reviewing.
